Nel 1926 Vogue America pubblica la foto di un vestito nero corto e semplice di Coco Chanel. Vogue l'ha definito "Chanel Ford", il tubino nero era semplice e accessibile per tutte le classi sociali. E il "little black dress", secondo le previsioni di Vogue, sarebbe diventato una sorta di uniforme per tutte le donne eleganti.
Diventa popolarissimo negli anni '60 grazie al modello disegnato da Givenchy per Audrey Hepburn in Colazione da Tiffany. Da allora il LBD è considerato elemento essenziale del guardaroba di ogni donna!
In 1926 Coco Chanel published a picture of a short, simple black dress in American Vogue. Vogue called it "Chanel's Ford". The little black dress was simple and accessible for women of all social classes. Vogue also said that the LBD would become "a sort of uniform for all women of taste". Becomes very popular in the sixties thanks to that designed by Givenchy and worn by Audrey Hepburn in the filmBreakfast at Tiffany's. Since then the LBD is considered essential to a complete wardrobe by many women!
