FASHION PHOTOGRAPHERS:FRANK HORVAT
Frank Horvat was born in 1928 in Abbazia, which was then Italy but is now Croatia. He studied art in Milan and a meeting in 1951 with Henri Cartier-Bresson decided his fate as a photojournalist. He traveled the world during the early fifties, sending his work back to 'Paris Match', 'Life' and 'Realities' amongst other publications. During his long career, Frank Horvat has contributed to every major magazine and his work has been exhibited in Paris, London, Prague, Berlin and New York. In 1955, Frank Horvat moved to London and working for 'Life' and 'Picture Post', he was the first to apply the 35mm camera and reportage techniques to fashion photography, creating a fresh, new and realistic style. This influenced the development of fashion photography in England, France and the United States. In 1956 Frank Horvat settled in Paris, continuing to photograph fashion in a reportage style. He continues to live in France today.

I truly feel comparing white and black photography with it's film equal is like assessing apples with grapefruits. They only usually are not exactly the same thing in look and feel. I reviewed this in detail in part 1 of the sequence. next page When talking to wedding photographer Hellen Vehicle Meene she describe movie as getting "magic". Now I'm unclear exactly what the techical word for secret is but wonderfully I realize precisely what Hellen means.
