MY GREEK TRIP-HYDRA

When I arriving to Hydra I was destroyed by the journey, but the island is really beautiful, it's something worth Hydra is not part of the Cyclades islands, but of Saronic islands, in fact it does not have the typical architecture of white and turquoise houses, but it's closer to our Mediterranean islands. It's very elegant, I think is the best Greece island that I saw. Hydra is very small, but the town develops on a few kilometers of the coast, so there are no cars, but only mules and horses,therefore it's the place to be for me! For sleeping there is a lot of choice, I went to the Hotel Angelica, (the samples in the bathroom are Korres, good greek products with natural nutrients), however, it's all so easily accessible and well cared for which is not hard to find a cozy place. On Marina there are shaded bars, where you have breakfast and appetizers, The Pirate is the most famous and oldest. But to watch the sunset during the cocktail you must go to Hydronetta, a bar overlooking the sea where you can also take a dip. During the evening, after dinner, we meet at Amalour for a drink before going to sleep. For shopping Hydra is full of shops, but mostly selling clothes made in Italy, especially in Positano, (going to Positano since I was born, so I did not buy anything), more interesting the jewelry stores, some with original design which is worth buying if you are in the mood to pamper yourself. The beaches are easily reachable by small boats that leave from the port or with short walks. Then there are also the water taxi for a tour of the island, as you leave the village you realize that the rest of the island is completely uninhabited.

Arrivo ad Hydra in coma, distrutta, ma ne vale veramente la pena. Hydra non fa parte delle Cicladi, ma delle isole Saroniche, infatti non ha la tipica architettura di case bianche e turchesi, ma si avvicina di più alle nostre isole del mediterraneo. E' molto elegante, il turismo più d' elite e in effetti è la più bella vista fino ad ora. Hydra non è piccolissima, ma il centro abitato si sviluppo su pochi chilometri di costa, per cui non ci sono auto, ma solo muli e cavalli, questa è la mia isola! Per dormire c'è l'imbarazzo della scelta, io sono andata all'Hotel Angelica, (i campioni che trovi in bagno sono della Korres, buon prodotto greco con nutrienti naturali), comunque è tutto così facilmente raggiungibile e ben curato che è non è difficile trovare un posto accogliente. Sul porticciolo ci sono bar ombreggiati, dove fare colazione e aperitivi, il più famoso e antico è il Pirata. Ma per ammirare il tramonto durante l'aperitivo bisogna assolutamente andare all'Hydronetta, bar a picco sul mare dove si può anche fare un tuffo. La sera dopo cena ci si incontra all'Amalour per un drink prima di andare a dormire. Per lo shopping Hydra è piena di negozi, ma per lo più vendono abiti prodotti in Italia, soprattutto a Positano, (andando a Positano da quando sono nata non ho comprato niente), più interessanti i negozi di gioielli, alcuni con design originali che vale la pena acquistare se si è in vena di viziarsi. Per il mare è tutto facilmente raggiungibile con barchini che partono in continuazione dal porto o anche con brevi passeggiate a piedi. Ci sono poi anche i water taxi per un giro dell'isola, appena ci si allontana dal paesino abitato ci si rende conto che il resto dell'isola è completamente disabitata.
