AMERICAN ACADEMY IN ROME-ACROSS THE BOARD:PARTS OF A WHOLE

Yesterday, February 9, the annual event is back with Cinque Mostre at the American Academy in Rome, which houses the works of the Rome Prize Fellows. The project brings together, with site-specific interventions, the work of artists in residence at the American Academy and other non-resident artists. The exhibition Across the Board: Parts of a Whole part from 'idea of "fragment."
Elaborating historical facts, objects, landscapes, fictions and symbols, the single part of the show assemble a complex system that questioning the potential of abstraction and its impact  on reality. The itinerary embraces the constructive "chaos" and investigates the possibility of drawing of the past as a source for a completely new formulation.
Moving across the show and interacting with the works, will one be able to make sense of the single fragments as part of a larger, complex whole.

Ieri 9 febbraio, è tornato l'appuntamento annuale con Cinque Mostre all'American Academy in Rome, che ospita le opere dei Rome Prize Fellows. Il progetto mette in relazione , con interventi site specific, il lavoro di artisti residenti presso l'American Academy e di altri artisti non residenti.
La mostra Across the Board: Parts of a Whole parte dall' idea di "frammento".
Elaborando fatti storici, oggetti, paesaggi, finzioni e simboli, la mostra si compone in un sistema complesso che  interroga il potenziale di astrazione e l'impatto che ha sulla società.
Il percorso abbraccia l'idea del "caos" e indaga sulla possibilità di affrontare il passato come fonte d'ispirazione per nuovi approdi.
Muovendosi attraverso la mostra e interagendo con le opere, sarà possibile dare un senso ai singoli frammenti come parte di una totalità più ampia e complessa.
