"Aria "is the collection with which Alessandro Michele celebrates Gucci's centenary.
A show in which Tom Ford's creations and all the symbols that have characterized the life of the brand return.
It begins with the famous red velvet trouser suit with which Tom Ford in 1996 made Gucci a protagonist of contemporary costume, and continues through eras and references, from equestrian vestments trasformed into a fetish universe.
On the catwalk we not only find the codes of the maison and some of the most iconic garments of the past decades, from the 60s to the 90s, in a sparkling and festive version, but also an unprecedented inspiration to the lines of Balenciaga, with whose creative director: Demna Gvasalia, Alessandro Michele collaborated.
The collection was presented through a short film co-directed by the creative director and the artist and videomaker Floria Sigismondi. Through the mysterious door of the Savoy Hotel, illuminated by neon signs, you can watch the show.
The models walk in a long corridor full of light, under the flashes of non-existent photographers. But it is in the finale, the real surprise: crossing a closed door, the landing place for everyone is in an enchanted garden.
